INJURIES
If there are any injuries, call 911 or ask someone else to call for you.

SAFETY FIRST
If you and your passengers are able, move to a safe location (for example, a sidewalk or the side of the road). If your car is safe to drive and is a safety hazard, move the car to a safe spot.

POLICE
It does not matter how severe the accident is, even with a minor fender-bender, you need to call the police and follow their instructions.

WAIT FOR HELP
Do not leave the scene of the accident. If possible, turn off your engine and turn on your hazard lights.

EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION
It is important to exchange information with the other driver. You want to get the following:

•Driver’s contact information
•Driver’s license number and license plate number
•The car’s license plate and the make, model, and color of the car
•The name of the insurance company and the policy number
•Location of the accident
•Photographs of the cars (including your own car) involved in the accident

When discussing the accident with others, you should not discuss who is at fault for the accident. You should not provide any details about your policy, other than providing the policy number.
